Netflix once again appears to be down during a high-traffic holiday.
Downrightnow
shows sporadic outages for the video service starting New Year's Eve.
While there's been no official confirmation from Netflix, Downrightnow
cites user reports on its own service as well as Twitter.
This latest issue comes after a prolonged outage on Christmas Eve caused by problems with Amazon Web Services' Electronic Load Balancing. While that outage wasn't an issue caused by Netflix (the company issued a statement clarifying the issue), many users were upset at missing out on their holiday entertainment.
Update 4:15 p.m. 1/1/2012: Netflix said to Pete Cashmore on Twitter Tuesday afternoon that everything was fine on their end.

@mashable No outage. All systems are go!
There is no Netflix outage today and there was no outage on Dec. 31. Netflix streaming is fine, DVD deliveries are fine. The dvd.netflix.com Web site, for adding DVDs to a member’s queue, experienced some technical issues on Monday and was not accessible at all times to all members, that’s been fixed.
To Be Contd.
