The rumours about Wizkid leaving his EME
record label aren’t clearing away anytime soon, thanks to the artiste
himself, who seems to be heavily hinting about parting ways with the
label.
Even though label boss Banky W has cleared the air on several occasions, most recently in a Factory 78 interview early this year, fans are worried, as they feel the 22-year-old pop star might be going solo.
On Friday, February 1, 2013, Wizzy began a rant on Twitter:
‘Don’t take Loyalty for stupidity..don’t!‘, ‘Moving on to start all over again!…Fuck it!..‘, and went on to say ‘If dey sleep on u..move on!‘
Wizkid, NET gathered, has already signed a management deal in the UK with Disturbing London, a company run by Nigerian-UK rapper Tinie Tempah. The deal was reportedly linked early December 2012.
Wizkid also ended his long-time deal with his first manager Osagie Osarenkhoe in September 2012, hiring Godwin Tom as an immediate replacement.
‘He’s growing into a man, making his
own decisions. He fired Osagie and hired Godwin.
If his contract with
EME expires, who says he can’t leave?‘, an insider in the EME camp tells cardinalbolt
No word from Wizkid’s manager Godwin Tom as he is yet to respond to our E-mails.
